Privacy Policy

Kirk Web Design ("we", "us") builds and maintains websites for businesses in Indiana. This policy explains what information we collect through kirkwebdesign.com, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Information you give us

We collect information you enter into forms on this site. That includes the contact form and any project or quote request you submit. Depending on the form, this may include:

• Your name and business name
• Email address and phone number
• Details you choose to share about your project, website, or business

We use this only to respond to you, prepare a quote, and carry out work you engage us for. We do not sell it, rent it, or share it for anyone else's marketing.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, this one records basic technical information when you visit: pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring site, browser type, device type, and time spent. This is used to understand which pages are useful and where the site needs work.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage. IP anonymisation is enabled, which means your full IP address is not stored by Google Analytics. Google's handling of this data is governed by its own privacy policy.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. This site uses them for two purposes: analytics as described above, and remembering that you have dismissed the cookie notice. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though the notice may reappear.

Third-party services

Some parts of this site rely on outside providers, and information passes to them when you use those features:

• Google Analytics for usage measurement
• Calendly when you book a call, which collects the details you enter
• Google Workspace when a project inquiry is delivered to our business email
• Stripe if you use the separate client payment service. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see or store full card numbers

Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy.

How long we keep information

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and, where a project follows, for the life of that working relationship and a reasonable period afterward for business records. Analytics data is retained according to the provider's standard retention settings.

How information is protected

This site is served over HTTPS. Access to enquiry data is limited to those who need it to do the work. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. To do that, email kirk@kirk-co.com. You can also opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser.

Children

This site is intended for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted here with an updated date at the top of the page.
